I Don't Owe The Tax

Information about The Tax Resolution Company

There are a number of reasons a tax could be assessed against you that you may legitimately not owe.

(1) If additional tax has been assessed against you because of income your spouse or former spouse failed to report, you may qualify for innocent spouse relief.

(2) If you failed to file a return and the IRS has assessed a tax against you under their Substitute for Return program, you may be able to reduce or eliminate this erroneous assessment.

(3) If the IRS has proposed additional taxes due on a return you filed, and you do not think you owe it, click here.

(4) If the IRS has assessed or proposed assessing additional tax due to unreported income, and you think this income is not yours, you may be a victim of identity theft. The first step is to order transcripts of that income information to verify that it was not yours. You do that by filing form 4506-T.  Once you are certain the income is not yours, you will need to file Form 14039 - Affidavit of Identity Theft. Identity theft can be a tricky issue. We suggest you contact us for assistance with this potentially devastating problem.
